Our biggest safety release yet. We removed the tweaks behind the problems users actually hit, added new guardrails around the powerful ones that remain, and stopped recommending changes that did nothing. Updating asks nothing of you — your tweaks, backups, and undo history carry over unchanged.

Forwarded PowerShell is checked against the registry allowlist before it runs.
Activating a license left every tweak blocked until you restarted the app. Activation saved your license without the server signature that 2.0.0 requires before applying anything — so the app said "License activated" while every Apply quietly failed. If you are on 2.0.0, this affects you.
You had to re-enter your license key after some restarts. The hardware fingerprint was not stable between launches, so the server occasionally saw a new machine and spent one of the two hardware changes a license allows. It is now derived once, from identifiers that are actually readable, and reused unchanged.
Every scheduled task opened the SageTweaks window instead of running silently — which, on a standard Windows account, meant a UAC prompt or an error dialog at every sign-in. Tasks left behind by an earlier version are cleaned up automatically on first launch.
The window froze during long operations. Around 31 backend commands were running on the UI thread, so the app looked hung while it was working. They now run off-thread.
Batch operations failed partway through with "security validation failed" whenever you selected more than five items.
Backup Registry overwrote its own backups. A multi-key export collapsed to a single file while the interface reported success — filenames now include the hive and key.
Operations could spin forever without ever failing. Every external tool call now has a time budget and is stopped when it expires.
The app got slower the longer you left it open.

Undo Center v2 — revert one individual tweak, not just an entire time window, with an honest fidelity badge on every entry showing whether the original value was fully captured, partially captured, or cannot be restored.
The Scheduler actually schedules things: choose exactly which categories the daily cleanup touches, plus two new weekly tasks for drift repair and report export. Sign-in profiles are now picked from your real saved profiles.

The revert audit that 2.0.0 started is finished. All 11 advanced network tweaks are revertable, CPU, memory, storage and advanced-registry reverts now use the backups they captured, and 15 further modules no longer change your system without saving a restore value first.
A new automated gate means a tweak cannot be added to SageTweaks in future without declaring whether it can be undone.
Placebo tweaks are no longer counted as wins in results or scoring, benchmark verdicts are derived from each run’s own measured noise rather than reported as gains, and the Games MMCSS preset is counted as one setting instead of 13.
Three commodity features were removed rather than kept half-working: File Tools, third-party app updates, and driver maintenance. Dedicated tools do each of them better, and between them they caused a disproportionate share of the freezes and errors fixed above. The Debloater, Apps Remover, and every other feature are untouched.
The Quick Wins page, the Prove It wizard, and an unreachable Benchmark page were also removed as duplicates of surfaces that already did the same job. The measurement engine behind Prove It is unchanged — "no measurable change" is still a first-class result.
The app icon is no longer blurry in the titlebar, taskbar and tray.
